Reinsurance Accounting Manager

About This Role

Manage reinsurance accounting for a finance team, ensuring accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of reinsurance activity, compliance with treaties, and support for statutory filings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile reinsurance GL accounts (ceded premium, losses, payables, recoverables)
• Prepare and process reinsurance settlements and review bordereaux
• Monitor treaties for compliance and accurate financial reporting
• Support month‑end/quarter‑end close and prepare related journal entries
• Prepare statutory reinsurance schedules, including Schedule F
• Track and monitor collateral balances
• Collaborate with claims, underwriting, and actuarial teams
• Prepare reports for senior management, auditors, and regulators
• Contribute to process improvements and reporting efficiencies

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, PivotTables, Lookups)
• Experience with accounting systems (EAS, SAP, Oracle)
• Familiarity with NAIC SAP
• Strong analytical skills
• Multitasking skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
