Rehab Tech

About This Role

The Rehab Tech works under the direct supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist, providing therapeutic modality treatments, preparing therapy areas, and safely transporting patients. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment and the environment to ensure cleanliness, operability, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic modality treatments as assigned under direct supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist
• Prepare therapy areas and patients for treatments
• Transport patients by use of wheelchairs and stretchers in a safe and courteous manner
• Maintain all equipment and environment to assure that they are clean, operable, and safe
• Perform isolation techniques as outlined in Infection Control policy
• Prepare and maintain work area for treatment including ordering supplies/linen and pharmaceuticals
• Orient and mentor new staff in needs of assigned area
• Monitor and assist in patient-care as specifically instructed by the therapist according to competencies
• Assist with generalized office and front desk procedures
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication style

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
• Ability to travel throughout and between facilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• None required, 5 years relevant experience or pursuing an education in a clinical program preferred

Nice to Have

• Some college coursework in healthcare sciences
• 5 years relevant experience or pursuing an education in a clinical program
