About This Role

This Registered Nurse role in the Operating Room performs comprehensive patient care interventions, documents conditions, and collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care. This role involves monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions, administering medications, and providing patient/family education.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
• Document patient care given
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

Requirements

• Current State of Michigan RN license
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred)
