About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) at the Surgery Center provides direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through standard nursing techniques and adherence to facility policies. This role involves patient assessment, education, monitoring, medication administration, and assisting physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care pre, during, and post procedure to assist physicians in achieving optimum patient outcomes.
  • Perform nursing assessments, obtain medical history, discuss procedures, and answer patient questions.
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures, especially those with moderate sedation or contrast media injections.
  • Administer medications and IV moderate sedation as directed by physician's orders and in compliance with regulations.
  • Act as scrub technologist to assist the physician during procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
  • Maintain integrity of medical records and other administrative and operational records.
  • Comply with all data collection and auditing activities and maintain facility environmental integrity and safety.
  • Operate and inspect facility equipment and technology, reporting malfunctions and maintenance needs.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment, immediately addressing blood spills according to policy.
  • Assist with efficient utilization of medication, laboratory, inventory, supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.)
  • Current appropriate state R.N. licensure
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Proficient in IV insertion
  • Proficient in cardiac rhythm recognition

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree desirable; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.).
  • 4-6 years related experience preferred in Office Based Surgical Center/Ambulatory Surgical Center/Vascular Access, Cardiac Cath Lab, or a combination of ASC, surgical, Interventional Radiology and ICU/CCU or emergency department.
