About This Role

This role provides safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients as part of a healthcare team, under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. It involves setting up and operating hemodialysis machines and maintaining a clean work environment, contributing to patient care and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing patient-specific education regarding adequacy measures and disease process/access
  • Welcome patients and inquire about their wellbeing
  • Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation
  • Administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law
  • Obtain pre and post-treatment vital signs and weight
  • Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders
  • Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed or directed
  • Monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy
  • Perform all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment
  • Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within required timeline
  • All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any)

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility

Certifications

CPR certification (Required) Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification (Required)
