Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About This Role

Provide professional nursing care to patients and families within a family practice and OB setting, administering medications and coordinating patient care activities. This role requires strong communication with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform general nursing care for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
• Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
• Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients
• Observe, record, and report patient's condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
• Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations, maintaining timely flow of patients
• Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination, screening for appropriate information including health history, vitals, and nursing assessment
• Document obtained information in patient chart and instruct patient in collection of samples and tests
• Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician
• Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness
• Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness and preparing lists of medical supplies needed
• Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol as needed, and perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN license in the state of practice upon hire
