This Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing comprehensive patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of nursing acts and standards. The role requires effectively delegating tasks, directing team members, and ensuring quality patient outcomes while demonstrating professional responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Effectively use the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient, family, and group needs
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly
- Serve as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team
- Utilize data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes
- Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements
- Comply with Ochsner Health System Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct
Requirements
- Registered Nurse Diploma
- Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Windows-style applications and various software packages
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good time management skills and self-directed
- Demonstrates good judgement
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Diploma

- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree In Nursing
