The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing skills to provide direct client care as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. This role contributes to program development, guides group decision making, and improves the quality of care for patients in a child/adolescent inpatient unit.
Responsibilities
- Utilize psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing skills as a direct client care provider
- Deliver direct client care to individuals, groups, and in the milieu
- Act as a role model for other staff members
- Lead in teaching other staff members
- Contribute to program development
- Guide group decision making
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Improve the quality of care
- Adhere to Hospital policies and procedures as well as applicable accreditation standards and state and federal regulations
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Connecticut RN License
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Effective leadership and delegation skills
- Computer and keyboarding skills
- Maintain telephone number for scheduling
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor’s degree preferred
