This Registered Nurse role involves providing direct client care within inpatient behavioral health units for children, adolescents, and adults with mental illness and substance use addictions. The RN acts as a direct client care provider, team member, and leader in treatment planning and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Utilize psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing skills as a direct client care provider
- Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team
- Deliver direct client care to clients individually, in groups, and in the milieu
- Act as a role model for other staff members
- Lead in teaching other staff and program development
- Guide group decision making
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Improve the quality of care
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Connecticut RN License
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Effective leadership and delegation skills
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Nice to Have
- Psychiatric experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with leading behavioral interventions or managing violent behaviors
