Registered Nurse, RN (Behavioral Health)

About This Role

Provide specialized nursing care for geriatric patients with Alzheimer's and other dementias, including those experiencing behavioral disturbances, within a 24-bed unit at Starr Regional Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition
• Establish a plan of care appropriate to identified problems, involving the patient as capable
• Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform clinical treatments
• Document patient care given
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluate learning needs and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

Requirements

• Current Tennessee Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
