As a Registered Nurse in Emergency Services at Starr Regional Medical Center, you will perform patient assessments, establish and implement care plans, and collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care. This role is dedicated to making communities healthier by providing exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition
- Establish a plan of care appropriate to identified problems, involving the patient according to capabilities and desires
- Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
- Document patient care given
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
Requirements
- Current Tennessee Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support certification at time of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 months of hire or transferring departments
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire or transferring departments
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
