Registered Nurse - Operating Room Internship

About This Role

This internship provides a valuable and unique career opportunity for graduate nurses and registered nurses in an operating room setting. The six-month program focuses on teaching a wide range of skills and knowledge to prepare the intern for a role as a perioperative nurse, conducted in classroom, laboratory, and patient care settings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a six-month operating room orientation program
• Engage in classroom, laboratory, and patient care setting training
• Develop skills and knowledge to become a perioperative nurse
• Fulfill call, weekend, and holiday obligations

Requirements

• Current Michigan RN license (or pass NCLEX within 45 days of hire for GN applicants)
• Call commitment with 30 minute response time

Nice to Have

• BSN
• Operating Room experience
• Satisfactory attendance record proven by employment references
• Ability to work with a non-responsive patient population
• Demonstrated ability to handle stress, conflict and resolution
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as a team member
