About This Role

Provide safe, quality patient care using the nursing process in a Mother/Baby unit, maintain effective communication within a multidisciplinary team, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, quality patient care and document using the nursing process
  • Ensure compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements
  • Provide patient/family education and act as a resource for staff
  • Participate in Preceptor class for new employee training
  • Maintain communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care
  • Attend daily huddles for assignments and team identification
  • Maintain competency by staying informed of changing trends in nursing practice
  • Attend annual review and complete unit-specific training
  • Perform required continuing education hours
  • Comply with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements
  • Prioritize, delegate, and evaluate work assignments

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Registered Nurse
  • RN license in the state where practicing
  • Completion of RN Orientation and approved unit specific checklist requirements
  • Effective communication and teaching skills
  • General knowledge of various regulatory and accrediting standards
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and evaluate work assignments
