Environmental Services Technician I

About This Role

The Environmental Services Technician I is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment by performing daily and special cleaning duties in accordance with departmental standards, ensuring infection control and supporting high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas (patient rooms, bathrooms, trash receptacles, dusting, sanitizing) according to standard operating procedures
• Perform cleaning duties, including special cleaning and other area assignments, as per departmental standard operating procedures
• Adhere to general safety and infection control standards
• Perform responsibilities in a timely, efficient, cost-effective, confidential, and professional manner
• Perform other duties as assigned while demonstrating willingness, ability, and team spirit to provide optimal customer satisfaction
• Attend, demonstrate, and participate in required inservices, performance improvement activities, and other educational programs
• Prioritize and make suggestions to supervisor regarding periodical cleaning in assigned areas
• Assume responsibility for reporting safety hazards and cleaning emergency spills when sighted

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to provide service to a customer population including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Previous experience in the hospital setting is preferred.
