Registered Nurse (Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit)

About This Role

Provide professional nursing care in a medical/surgical and telemetry unit, assessing patient needs, delivering direct care, and implementing treatment plans to ensure quality patient outcomes within the WMCHealth network.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care
• Provide patient-centered care to medically complex patients
• Supervise care, treatment, and services of the patient(s)
• Document the patient's plan of care
• Maintain confidentiality with patients, medical staff, and co-workers
• Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment
• Adhere to and support WMCHealth policies/procedures/goals/objectives
• Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, hospital policies and patient care outcome standards
• Implement physicians' orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests
• Assess and evaluate patients' needs for, and responses to, care rendered

Requirements

• Previous professional nursing experience
• Associate's degree
• Valid license and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the New York State Education Department
• Current BLS certification

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required, BSN preferred
• Previous professional nursing experience required
