This Registered Nurse position at Mission Regional Medical Center involves providing safe and effective patient care in the Labor and Delivery unit, utilizing the nursing process. The role focuses on direct patient care, patient/family teaching, and guiding other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care for newborns and mothers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice
- Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel
- Maintain standards of care in the Birthplace
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment
- Provide for a safe environment for patients and visitors
- Utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License
- BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
- ACLS certification within 90 days and maintain current
- NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
- Basic Fetal monitoring within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate within 12 months
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
Nice to Have
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate
- STABLE
