About This Role

Perform diagnostic imaging procedures and therapeutic treatments using radioactive materials to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. Contribute to high-quality healthcare services by utilizing expertise in radioactive materials, imaging technology, patient care, and radiation safety.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patients, measuring and mixing appropriate doses while ensuring accuracy and safety
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients via intravenous injection, oral ingestion, or inhalation
  • Perform imaging studies using specialized nuclear medicine equipment, including SPECT and Planar Scintigraphy
  • Operate imaging cameras and detectors to capture images of radioactive tracers in organs or tissues
  • Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure and ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals for optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy

Requirements

  • Current State Nuclear Medicine License issued by CDPH, A.R.R.T. or N.M.T.C.B. Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
  • Graduate of a program accredited by ARRT
  • Current BCLS (AHA)
  • Proficient computer skills

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a program accredited by ARRT
  • At least one year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist preferred, one year of acute clinical radiology experience is preferred

  • One year of acute, clinical radiology experience
  • At least one year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist
  • Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment
