Administer radiopharmaceuticals for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures, process digital images, and provide diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans.
Responsibilities
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures
- Process data and enhance digital images using advanced computer technology
- Provide images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures
- Evaluate images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation
- Provide diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients
- Administer and record isotope dosage in accordance to established departmental protocol
- Observe patient during procedure and report any abnormal activity
- Utilize and operate equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment
- Adhere to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program in AMA approved school
- 2 years of experience in radiology
- BLS Certification or “Hands–On” CPR certification
- Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology
- Licensure with the State, when applicable by law
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program in AMA approved school, Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Preferred)
- 2 years of experience in radiology
