About This Role

The Registered Nurse II (RN) at Emergency Care Center provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts assessments, assists with treatment, and educates patients. This role involves critical thinking and independent judgment to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to diverse patient populations
• Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and educate patients
• Communicate and collaborate with physicians and interprofessional health care teams to facilitate efficient, quality care
• Demonstrate clinical competence in providing care, using technology, administering medications, managing emergencies
• Act as a patient and family advocate to monitor and maintain patient rights
• Participate in or lead unit and shared governance initiatives
• Serve as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees
• Contribute to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management

Requirements

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment
• Texas RN license or compact licensure with commitment to obtain Texas license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• NIHSTROKE certification
• NVCRISIS certification
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language

Qualifications

• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s)
• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment

• Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification
• ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENA)
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course or Instructor (ENA)
