About This Role

This role is responsible for performing daily patient access functions including scheduling, insurance verification, and registration, serving as a liaison between patients, staff, physicians, and insurance providers. The position ensures accurate data entry for financial clearance activities and resolves relevant questions and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multiple patient access functions including scheduling, insurance verification, and registration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for routine matters between patients, staff, physicians, and insurance providers
  • Resolve questions and issues related to the scope of the department
  • Obtain and enter accurate scheduling, insurance, and registration data into operational systems
  • Initiate financial clearance activities
  • Communicate to resolve patient access and quality service matters
  • Ensure patient information is conveyed appropriately while complying with patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
  • Accurately record information for registration, scheduling, and insurance verification to meet financial objectives
  • Conduct front-end revenue cycle duties such as collecting payments and educating patients on billing processes

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment including registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and/or business office
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers
  • Knowledge of basic registration/access functions and insurance procedures
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnosis/procedural codes
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn and navigate multiple software programs

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Three years of experience in a healthcare environment, including registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and/or business office
