Registered Nurse - ICU

About This Role

Deliver safe patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provide direct patient care, guide patient/family teaching, and direct other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching in the ICU
• Direct and guide activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.

• Completion of Critical Care Course
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
