The City of Norfolk is seeking a Recreation Activity Instructor to plan, implement, and evaluate dance programming for various age groups.
Responsibilities
- Teach various levels of dance classes including ballet, modern, jazz, and ballroom
- Develop and organize classes in at least two different dance styles
- Assist with developing and implementing fee-based dance classes
- Provide classroom management by scheduling, monitoring students, compiling curriculums, and providing feedback
- Market recreation programs by distributing flyers and announcements
- Safely operate music equipment
Requirements
- High School or GED Dance education or closely related field of study
- At least 1-year instructional experience
Qualifications
- High School or GED Dance education or closely related field of study
- At least 1-year instructional experience
Nice to Have
- Valid Driver’s License
- First Aid and CPR certified
