The Receptionist is responsible for professionally directing incoming calls and greeting visitors. This role provides general information and assistance while performing routine office support functions for the company.
Responsibilities
- Answer and appropriately route all incoming calls using a multi-line telephone system.
- Greet visitors and direct them to their proper destination.
- Receive, open, and date-stamp incoming mail.
- Notify appropriate departments of delivery and package arrivals.
- Respond to vendor requests for general and preliminary notice information.
- Ship and log packages for expedited delivery.
- Maintain funds for the postage meter.
- Prepare new file folders for Project Managers.
- Order all office and job site supplies and assist with inventory.
- Maintain the reception office to present a professional environment.
Requirements
- One year of experience as receptionist/general office clerk.
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
- Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system, computer, and other standard office equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle high volume calls with courtesy, speed, and accuracy.
Qualifications
- One year of experience as receptionist/general office clerk.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with business departments, staff, and their associated functions and responsibilities.
