Receiving Team Leader

About This Role

Lead the receiving area operations, ensuring efficient freight flow, accurate inventory management, and maintenance of the receiving area. This role involves planning, unloading, checking in, and merchandising shipments while maintaining safety and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments of merchandise
• Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments to the sales floor
• Manage effective freight flow in the receiving area, keeping it neat and orderly
• Maintain the safety of the receiving area, including eliminating hazards and maintaining equipment
• Adhere to company standards for verifying pricing accuracy of incoming shipments and report discrepancies
• Prepare STS transfers, GVC returns, and other outbound transfers of merchandise or fixtures
• Confirm the accuracy of all incoming merchandise
• Set up and design merchandise displays
• Ensure all customer service standards are met
• Direct the work of other associates assisting with freight flow processes
• Act as Manager on Duty as scheduled, including store open and close

Requirements

• Ability to work evenings, 3rd shift, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months’ retail experience in a mid-size to large retail service-oriented business preferred.
