This role is responsible for receiving and managing incoming products, ensuring product quality and inventory control in a supermarket setting, while also maintaining receiving equipment and a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming products and manage product returns and replacements
- Provide service to vendors and staff
- Maintain receiving equipment and workplace status
- Oversee daily operations and staff performance, providing training and supervision
- Ensure thorough quality control during product receiving and manage inventory across display areas and backrooms
- Process, sort, and tally related invoices and documents, dispersing them to relevant Department Heads
- Assist other departments with returned/replaced products, manage shrinkage, and examine obsolete items
- Ensure non-room temperature products are placed inside the warehouse/cooler timely
- Order, replenish, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and coordinate distribution
- Ensure garbage and cardboard machinery is functioning properly, tying and bundling paper safely
- Follow procedures for executing in-store transfers
- Ensure receiving machinery, equipment, and tools are regularly maintained and well-kept
- Ensure receiving areas are organized, clear, unblocked, and safe
- Control backdoor access and enforce relevant policies
- Greet vendors and staff with friendly service
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Able to stand for extended periods to handle products, regularly moving and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Good computer skills in MS Office
- Valid Fork Lift or Pallet Jack license
- Familiar with relevant tools and equipment, able to interpret product labels accurately.
- Good communication skills in English
- Well versed with workplace health and safety protocols
- Great organization, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
