Receiver

About This Role

This role is responsible for receiving and managing incoming products, ensuring product quality and inventory control in a supermarket setting, while also maintaining receiving equipment and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming products and manage product returns and replacements
• Provide service to vendors and staff
• Maintain receiving equipment and workplace status
• Oversee daily operations and staff performance, providing training and supervision
• Ensure thorough quality control during product receiving and manage inventory across display areas and backrooms
• Process, sort, and tally related invoices and documents, dispersing them to relevant Department Heads
• Assist other departments with returned/replaced products, manage shrinkage, and examine obsolete items
• Ensure non-room temperature products are placed inside the warehouse/cooler timely
• Order, replenish, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and coordinate distribution
• Ensure garbage and cardboard machinery is functioning properly, tying and bundling paper safely
• Follow procedures for executing in-store transfers
• Ensure receiving machinery, equipment, and tools are regularly maintained and well-kept
• Ensure receiving areas are organized, clear, unblocked, and safe
• Control backdoor access and enforce relevant policies
• Greet vendors and staff with friendly service
• Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Able to stand for extended periods to handle products, regularly moving and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds
• Good computer skills in MS Office
• Valid Fork Lift or Pallet Jack license
• Familiar with relevant tools and equipment, able to interpret product labels accurately.
• Good communication skills in English
• Well versed with workplace health and safety protocols
• Great organization, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
