About This Role

Operate MRI and/or radiology equipment to produce diagnostic images for medical professionals, adhering to established standards and procedures. This role involves patient preparation, equipment adjustment, and coordination for accurate and efficient diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and procedures
  • Prepare patients and adjust equipment for performing MRI
  • Position and instruct patients regarding procedures
  • Perform IV injections for the administration of IV contrast media
  • Coordinate daily schedules for efficiency and assess exam completion
  • Assist with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation
  • Assist with the collection and maintenance of records for the Radiology Department, Quality Assurance Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines, or as required by law
  • Maintain all records/reports required for the MRI area (patient records, volume records, equipment records)
  • Consult with radiologist, physicians, and other patient-care personnel for specific exam details and specialized protocols
  • Research lab data results, be familiar with IV Access Systems/Restrictions, and monitor injection of contrast material and patient condition throughout the exam
  • Perform various radiology procedures accurately, efficiently, and according to established standards and protocols
  • Initiate proper intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention
  • Utilize computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS EMR systems and perform general clerical duties

Requirements

  • Associate's or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school or hospital-based Radiologic Technology Program
  • Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
  • Thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology and human anatomy
  • Associate's or a certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 60 Days

Qualifications

  • Associate's or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school or hospital-based Radiologic Technology Program or Certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Less than 1 year experience; 1-3 years training/experience in MRI preferred

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years Training/experience in MRI
