The Radiology Technologist II performs a variety of patient care duties to produce diagnostic imaging through the operation of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. This role requires explaining safety protocols and procedures to patients, adjusting equipment, and ensuring accurate imaging and records.
Responsibilities
- Confirm correct patient and exam through patient confirmation, interview, patient history, and medical record.
- Explain exam and contrast administration to patients, considering individual physical, emotional, and language needs.
- Adjust equipment appropriately for all exams to set automated and manual technical factors for safe patient imaging.
- Perform required imaging using appropriate equipment and contrast according to department protocol or Radiologist's request.
- Ensure exams are labeled correctly prior to transmission to PACS and successfully arrive in PACS.
- Adhere to all departmental and hospital policies.
- Regularly perform Tech 1 duties and a minimum of 1 consistent specialty rotation (e.g., Pediatric, GI/GU/Misc. Fluoroscopy, MSK IR Procedures, Neuro IR Procedures, O-Arm, Extremity CT, 3D C-arm, and Trauma).
Requirements
- Radiologic Technologist State License
- Registered Technologist (ARRT) certification
- 1-2 years Radiology Technician experience with multiple patient populations
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, principles of radiation physics, ALARA, radiographic equipment and positioning.
- Ability to read and write in English
