Quality Technician I

About This Role

Directly support manufacturing practices by developing, evaluating, and improving processes using quality concepts to meet or exceed customer expectations. This role involves inspecting materials, collecting quality data, and operating measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Release product for shipping by ensuring proper documentation/certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements
• Understand and apply basic GD&T concepts
• Proficient in dimensional verification of PPAP and first article parts
• Provide direct support to the production floor by assisting with interpretation/development of manufacturing related documentation and providing or teaching proper measuring techniques
• Provide technical inspection of manufactured and raw materials at "receiving" as outlined by the process
• Collect data, evaluate, and present quality metrics
• Program and operate FARO & Micro-Vu measurement equipment proficiently
• Attend department meetings as required

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs
• Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and the use of the Internet

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related field preferred
• 1+ years working preferably in a metal fabrication environment under a continuous improvement QMS with hands on inspection or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• 1+ years in metal fabrication environment under continuous improvement QMS with hands-on inspection
• Programming for FARO and Micro-Vu Measurement Equipment
