Quality Manager - Data Center Construction

About This Role

This role involves leading and coordinating all quality aspects for data center construction projects, ensuring 100% compliant work that exceeds expectations. This includes developing procedures, conducting inspections, and resolving issues to maintain high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Work with project manager, superintendents, and subcontractors to develop processes and procedures for 100% compliant work
• Act as an advocate for Yates Construction by maintaining good corporate ethics and promoting quality as a core value
• Maintain active relationships with engineers, consultants, and industry associations
• Assist teams with developing and following project-specific quality management plans
• Build and maintain system templates for various DFOW activities
• Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits and inspections of work in place
• Provide training and coaching for project team members to identify key project risks related to quality
• Coordinate all QC functions independently as CQCM to avoid construction scheduling delays
• Determine, communicate, and document deficiencies, ensuring timely correction (NCR Log)
• Maintain current records providing factual evidence of required quality control activities and tests
• Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications and contract requirements
• Initiate three-phase inspection process and conduct daily observations to ensure implementation
• Conduct and Chair Preparatory Meetings, and weekly QC meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Verify and document that all materials received conform to approved submittals, are stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use
• Oversee daily and weekly QC/QA reports reinforcing conformance with established standards
• Assist with administering the site safety program, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and Yates Site Specific Requirements

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Construction Standards and Best Practices
• Working knowledge of the International Building Code
• Experience with large/complex quality plan implementation
• Computer skills using Procore, Viewpoint, SharePoint, MS Office

Qualifications

• An associate or undergraduate university degree or higher (preferably in Quality Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field) is preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of construction experience as a part of a quality control supervision and minimum of five (5) years industrial and/or commercial construction experience
