About This Role

As a Quality Engineer, you will support process improvement activities, perform quality control checks, and ensure process stability and conformance to customer requirements for a magnet manufacturer. You will also analyze production data, lead corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support process improvement activities, reporting to the Quality Manager (QM)
  • Support data gathering, data analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities
  • Perform randomized quality control checks on parts and/or assemblies to ensure process stability
  • Prepare test data, determine root cause, and identify areas for quality and process improvement
  • Champion APQP activities, ensuring PFD, PFMEA, and PCP meet AIAG standards
  • Analyze production floor data and report to the QM
  • Follow up on corrective action reports, including customer complaints, leading CAPA activities as needed
  • Monitor and update productivity metrics, supporting manufacturing by translating SPC and other quality data into actionable plans
  • Ensure ongoing product quality and report concerns as they arise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a science-related field
  • 2-3 years in manufacturing or 5 years in QE functions
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO9000, TS16949
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with experience in tools like 8D, 5Why, DMAIC
  • Working knowledge of SPC and inferential and descriptive statistics for manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and supplemental specifications
  • Experience collecting/collating data and drafting reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a science-related field
  • 2-3 years in manufacturing or 5 years in Quality Engineer functions

Nice to Have

  • Lean Six Sigma training
  • Project management training
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Experience with Minitab
  • Familiarity with AIAG tools
  • Previous experience in a high-volume serial production environment
