The QA Tech, Sterile Processing is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and proper functionality of assembled trays and instruments, providing immediate feedback and coaching to assemblers. This role involves documenting data and identifying discrepancies to improve the quality and effectiveness of sterile processing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and audit review kits for accuracy and proper instrument functionality; ensures data entry into the system
- Identify and report trends in kit errors and findings from SPM collation to leadership and monthly staff meetings
- Review and inspect case carts for accuracy and completeness; assist in creating missing or priority item lists
- Provide immediate feedback and coaching to assemblers
- Recognize and document staff who are unreceptive to feedback and escalate to educators for targeted training
- Accurately report all discrepancies and quality concerns
- Support enterprise-wide quality assurance programs and initiatives
- Assist in developing, recommending, and implementing education needs, internal standards, policies and procedures to improve quality and effectiveness of patient care and sterile processing
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Surgical Technologist
- 5+ years of relatable experience
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Surgical Technologist required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5+ years of relatable experience
