Research Assistant I

About This Role

This Research Assistant position in the Nigrovic Lab focuses on studying adaptive and innate immune mechanisms of autoimmune diseases. The role involves conducting studies in tissue culture, microscopy, immunology, molecular biology, and animal husbandry, contributing to significant research outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies in tissue culture, microscopy, immunology, and molecular biology techniques
• Perform animal husbandry and colony maintenance
• Execute cellular and molecular immunology assays including qPCR, flow cytometry, confocal and intra-vital 2-photon microscopy, and western blot
• Manage lab maintenance, including ordering supplies and general upkeep
• Consent and collect patient samples
• Process, organize, and cryopreserve patient samples
• Participate actively in lab meetings, discussions, and presentations

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Biology/Molecular Biology/Immunology or related field
• Excellent communication, organization, time management, and record-keeping skills

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Biology/Molecular Biology/Immunology or related field

Nice to Have

• Past research experience in tissue culture, cellular and molecular immunology, and/or mouse work
