This Purchasing Agent role is responsible for researching, evaluating, and purchasing products for a nationwide construction contractor. The agent will manage the purchasing process from order initiation to inventory management, aiming to secure cost savings and smooth material flow.
Responsibilities
- Input transactions and administer a purchasing and contracts system or database
- Initiate, prepare, process, and verify purchase orders following established guidelines to purchase materials and goods by required delivery dates
- Expedite delayed orders and resolve issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements
- Interact with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that purchasing needs are met promptly and efficiently
- Accountable for inventory management throughout the purchasing process, including optimizing the purchasing strategy to protect cash flow
Requirements
- 2-5 years of related experience
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work under moderate supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive)
- Basic Proficiency in English
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of related experience
Nice to Have
- Experience in Fire Sprinkler, Electrical, HVAC or Plumbing Purchasing
