Manage the overall operations, maintenance, admissions, and profitability of one or more multifamily communities. This role involves leading a team, ensuring resident satisfaction and compliance with housing regulations, and contributing to the financial health of the properties.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, develop, and manage a successful team, encouraging individual and team accountability
- Plan weekly/daily office staff schedules and coordinate maintenance assignments
- Strategically plan and meet individual and community performance goals, including sales and marketing
- Assist in achieving maximum rent receivable collections and participate in fraud prevention programs
- Ensure exceptional customer service and timely address resident concerns
- Oversee staff in following safety principles and ensure community compliance with regulations
- Develop management and maintenance systems for effective operation and train staff
- Prepare and coordinate paperwork for renting or vacating housing units and maintain resident files
- Perform move-in/move-out, customer service, housekeeping, and emergency inspections
- Monitor lease violations and delinquent rent roll, initiating eviction process when warranted
- Prepare annual budgets, income projections, and strategic business plans
- Counsel residents not complying with policies and ensure appropriate notification of lease violations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years on-site property manager experience OR 3+ years supervisory experience in customer service
- Thorough knowledge of HUD rules and regulations for public housing management
- Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, OSHA Standards, and local/state building codes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or Social Sciences preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years on-site experience as a property manager, or three (3) years of supervisory experience in a customer service-related business.
