About This Role

The Program Sound Engineer will support the Teen Arts Unit by fostering creativity and cultural appreciation through performing arts, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with community partners to align program goals with participant needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work special events, festivals, and recurring workshops
  • Work evenings and/or nights, including weekends
  • Maintain and report accurate records (reports, journals, surveys, spreadsheets) using Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based forms
  • Drive commission vehicles to various locations
  • Facilitate large group activities while maintaining composure and providing energy to engage participants
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages self-expression and teamwork
  • Collaborate with parents, recreation staff, and community partners to ensure program goals align with participant needs and interests
  • Manage class logistics, including attendance tracking, equipment setup, and safety compliance
  • Evaluate student progress through observation, feedback, and performance assessments

Requirements

  • Some experience in studio engineering, set design, visual arts, digital media, photography, videography, mentoring, theater, and music
  • Ability to maintain and report accurate records using computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based forms
  • Have a valid driver's license, willingness to drive commission vehicles
  • Ability to facilitate large group activities while maintaining composure and engaging an audience
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning styles and abilities

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Performing Arts or Visual Arts
  • At least 1 year of teaching in an artistic field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four (4) years of experience.

Nice to Have

  • CPR/First Aid certification
