This role leads the daily operations of the Security Services Department at a hospital site, involving management of security systems, emergency preparedness, and staff oversight. The Program Manager ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all security operations and systems for the regional hospital, clinical medical office buildings, commercial and residential real estate portfolio.
- Ensure the security, safety, and customer service for patients, visitors, physicians, and employees.
- Respond definitively and effectively to campus security breaches and oversee incident response planning and investigation.
- Manage the annual budget and management plan for the hospital Security Services portfolio.
- Identify and mitigate security risks, leveraging existing procedures and tools for resolution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal partners and external law enforcement agencies to promote a safe environment.
- Support major Security Services related projects and physical security technologies (access control, alarm, video surveillance, IT and data security).
- Ensure the department meets compliance and regulatory standards including EOC, Joint Commission, and IEMA.
- Direct subordinates in enforcing compliance and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for hospital physical security systems including CCTV, card access, radios, lock hardware, and emergency mass communications.
- Create and maintain a physical security inventory for all systems and devices.
- Develop and ensure the execution of security policy, procedures, programs, and guidelines.
- Manage hospital Security Services staff, fostering support, learning, teamwork, trust, and integrity.
Requirements
- High-school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in a health care safety and security role or related experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Writing skills for reports and paperwork
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Physical ability and knowledge on how to operate a motor vehicle
Qualifications
- High-school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in a health care safety and security role or related experience; 5+ years of leadership experience
