About This Role

Lead and manage the daily operations of a program within the Engineering Department, directing staff to achieve objectives aligns with the District's strategic plan and coordinating activities with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and manages the daily operations of a program within the Engineering Department
  • Directs, develops, and motivates staff to meet the objectives that assist in achieving the District's strategic plan
  • Plan, organize and direct all activities of a program as required to achieve program goals
  • Manage and supervise the daily activities of personnel assigned to the program
  • Coordinate activities with other programs within the Division and the Department
  • Maintain working relationship with public officials
  • Maintain records and prepare reports
  • Coordinate activities with District legal staff
  • Attend and/or conduct public hearings and presentations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 8+ years' experience as a licensed Professional Engineer in a related area
  • Progressive supervisory experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri, or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in engineering as deemed appropriate for the related program
  • Eight years' experience as a licensed Professional Engineer in a related area together with progressive supervisory experience.

  • Considerable skill in maintaining effective working relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, private developers, governmental officials, the general public and District personnel

  • Considerable skill in planning, supervising and coordinating the work of others
  • Considerable skill in preparing technical reports and maintaining records
  • Good knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and design software
