Program Manager

About This Role

This Program Manager role provides protective oversight and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The role involves staff supervision, scheduling, training, and ensuring adherence to agency standards and community integration goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing protective oversight to people living in the residence
• Be accessible 24/7 On-Call
• Responsible for scheduling, training of residential staff, supervising, and personnel related issues
• Provide assistance and instruction for each person in basic activities of daily living
• Participate in the selection and evaluation of staff
• Complete staff performance evaluations
• Participate in all IDT or Life Plan meetings and OPWDD surveys as required
• Successfully complete the AMAP course and annual recertification
• Drive agency vehicles and demonstrate safe driving practices
• Ensure for adherence to agency quality standards of operation and make decisions in conjunction with the Director of Residential Services
• Assist people supported in planning, coordinating and attending community integration/inclusion activities within their homes and community

Requirements

• High-School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid NY State or out of state Driver’s License
• Ability to pass a pre-employment road test and drive an agency vehicle
• Ability to lift (laundry, groceries)
• Experience with behavioral/psych issues is preferred

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in the Human Service field preferred
• Two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities; one year’s supervisory experience preferred
