About This Role

This Program Manager role involves overseeing multiple related civil/municipal engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, effective execution, and valuable delivery. The Program Manager will act as a senior leader, supporting staff and project managers in delivering high-quality products, managing client relationships, and engaging in business development.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all projects within the program align with strategic priorities like profitability, revenue growth, and resource management
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for assigned projects with minimal supervision
  • Facilitate communication between team members, stakeholders, and clients to align on objectives and timelines
  • Monitor project portfolio to ensure objectives are met and advise on anticipated delays
  • Oversee project progress, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget, escalating risks when necessary
  • Manage client relationships and ensure their good standing with the company
  • Work with senior leadership to guide business development activities for growth targets
  • Allocate resources effectively, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget, and communicate resource needs to leadership
  • Review Site Plan and Subdivision applicants for Municipal Land Use Boards and attend relevant meetings
  • Coordinate client needs and internal resources to ensure high-quality project delivery
  • Apply technical skills (e.g., storm water, hydraulics, grading, land use planning) to manage projects and support staff
  • Consider health, safety, and environmental requirements in civil designs
  • Monitor project portfolio expenses to stay within allocated budget
  • Ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved on schedule and within scope/budget
  • Regularly communicate project status, issues, risks, and changes to stakeholders and senior management

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in design, construction, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience managing and assisting in project management or client management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Surveying, Construction Management, or related disciplines
  • 10+ years of experience in design, construction, or equivalent experience and 10+ years of experience managing and assisting in project management or client management

Nice to Have

  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking
  • Proficiency in creating advanced Gantt charts, reporting dashboards, and resource management
  • Knowledge of cost estimation techniques and software
  • Entry level understanding KPIs for tracking project progress
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Familiarity with software for managing quality audits and compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams for team communication and updates
  • Experience with SharePoint Adobe or similar platforms to manage project documents, blueprints, and specifications
  • Basic knowledge of contract law and understanding of contract management tools
  • Knowledge of safety regulations as OSHA
  • Ability to create proposals, technical reports, specifications, and other project documentation
