The Program Coordinator for Senior Services oversees nutrition services and manages Senior Center operations, including home-delivered and congregate meal activities. This role involves supervising staff and volunteers, ensuring food safety, and coordinating social services for elderly and disabled individuals in Pasco County.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, assign, coordinate, train, and direct staff and volunteers for daily operations and service provision.
- Oversee daily operations, routine maintenance, supply ordering, and food safety for congregate Senior Centers and/or home delivery services.
- Conduct client interviews, assess eligibility, prioritize, and enroll participants for services.
- Perform field site inspections to ensure Senior Center operations and programming meet department standards and regulatory requirements.
- Promote Senior Centers through activities and community outreach to attract and serve the contemporary senior population.
- Assist in writing grants, reports, and administering contracts, ensuring compliance and goal achievements.
- Develop, monitor, and reconfigure home delivery routes and manage reservations and citizen concerns.
- Coordinate with other providers on behalf of participants and maintain participant files in CIRTS and Serve-Tracker.
- Perform community outreach to connect elderly persons with information and available related services.
- Assist with maintaining a social media presence and updating online website content and develop graphics and advertising material.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience dealing with the elderly.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate complex projects.
- Knowledge of social services for older persons.
- Knowledge of routine and complex operational issues concerning Senior Centers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or other related field.
- Two (2) years of professionally related experience, preferably dealing with the elderly.
