Product Engineering Automation Intern

About This Role

Join the Control Unit Development department to apply engineering and industry concepts to real challenges, working on a market-leading high-speed commercial printing press. Contribute to the design, plan, and implementation of projects in an Agile environment, culminating in a presentation to the executive team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with mentor and other employees to apply knowledge and grow skills
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges
• Attend frequent 1:1's with mentors and supervisors for progress updates and learning
• Work in an Agile environment and contribute to Agile ceremonies
• Recommend solutions to problems/issues that impact the project
• Determine and examine software alternatives
• Design, Develop, Debug, Document and Demonstrate work
• Present project overview and summary to executive team at end of internship

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or enrolled to continue education in an accredited graduate program
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Fluent in one or more modern object-oriented programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C++, Python)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Windows batch, Shell scripting language)
• Firm grasp on basic data structures and algorithmic techniques
• Strong debugging and analytical skills, problem-solver's attitude
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

• B.S., M.S., or PhD. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

• Prior experience with AWS
• Prior experience with Cloud-based software
• Prior experience with Database software
• Prior experience with web service API's and backend programming
• Prior experience with parallel processing in Python and/or Java
