Produce Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise and manage the Produce Department, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient inventory management, and effective merchandising to meet sales goals and minimize waste. Lead and train department employees, maintaining product quality and freshness.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Manage department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports and ordering products and supplies.
• Develop and implement localized merchandising plans for the department, setting up and creating displays for new and seasonal items.
• Ensure accurate and timely ordering to prevent losses from spoiled produce.
• Schedule Produce Department employees, oversee their training, recognize their performance, and delegate work assignments.
• Control department expenses by improving operations and efficiencies, controlling labor costs, and reducing shrinkage and pilferage.
• Stay updated on special produce needs for holidays and trends in cooking and recipes affecting consumer demand.
• Follow established departmental procedures for receiving merchandise, including inspecting products, pricing, and restocking to ensure freshness, quality, accuracy, and product rotation.
• Maintain an effective housekeeping program.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Produce/Grocery management

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Produce / Grocery management.
