Produce - Perishables Representative

About This Role

As a Perishable Representative, you will ensure a well-stocked and well-maintained produce department while delivering superior customer service. This role involves preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products daily, adhering to all department and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service by engaging with customers in-person and over the telephone
• Answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products
• Slice, package, label, and rotate products to maintain freshness
• Scan items on Telxon for production and assist in technical areas as needed
• Effectively merchandise product and use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales
• Make regular announcements related to freshly-produced items
• Clean and sanitize display cases, and properly operate/maintain equipment
• Comply with H-E-B food safety, sanitation standards, departmental SOPs, and store operating procedures

Requirements

• Minimum age 18
• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training
• Computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine)
• Strong customer service skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Reading and writing skills
• Planning and organizing skills
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, retail environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
