Produce Clerk

About This Role

Create an outstanding customer experience for the produce department by providing exceptional service and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, assist, and appreciate customers
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
• Assist with the preparation of produce platters/trays
• Inform customers of produce specials and recommend items
• Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies

Requirements

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Qualifications

• Entry level with comparable retail experience desired

Nice to Have

• Comparable Retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
