PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

About This Role

This role involves providing essential occupational therapy services to patients in their homes, following established treatment plans and state regulations. The Occupational Therapy Assistant will instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques to help patients regain their physical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state-specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, adhering to treatment plans defined by the supervising OT
• Instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of an occupational therapy assistant and according to state laws
• Observe, record, and report to the nurse supervisor and physician regarding patient response to treatment and changes in their condition
• Instruct patients, family, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in therapy areas within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant

Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of client characteristics
