About This Role

Join Sanofi Ventures as a Principal to support and lead investments in early-stage private companies with innovative ideas and breakthrough technologies strategically aligned with Sanofi's interests. This role involves comprehensive investment analysis, due diligence execution, and portfolio management in collaboration with senior investment professionals and R&D teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed analytical and due diligence support on new investment opportunities
• Evaluate investment opportunities with technical and business teams, soliciting input from senior investment professionals, R&D, and advisors
• Actively lead due diligence process, including calls with internal and external KOLs, market analysis, and building therapeutic market and financial models
• Support and ultimately lead deal negotiations with management teams on companies of interest
• Track, triage, and maintain new and active deal opportunities in the deal database, prioritizing those of significant interest
• Maintain oversight and support management of existing portfolio companies, taking board observer and director seats when appropriate
• Support analysis and provide recommendations for selling public company positions
• Actively participate in Sanofi Ventures activities and represent SV at a high standard internally and externally
• Prepare presentations and reports for quarterly investment meetings, responsible for content, style, and analytics
• Contribute to the preparation of Investment Committee materials and present deal recommendations
• Represent SV externally on panels, pitch competitions, and other relevant speaking engagements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of relevant Life-Sciences industry experience
• 4+ years at a venture capital firm with direct investment analysis and due diligence experience (preferred)
• Experience in a top-tier investment bank, healthcare-focused consulting, or a biopharma company in R&D or Business Development functions (alternative experience)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (Masters/MD/PhD preferred, for those without industry experience, an MBA can be considered)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant Life-Sciences industry experience with a preference for at-least 4 years at a venture capital firm with direct investment analysis and due diligence experience. Experience could also include a top-tier investment bank, healthcare-focused consulting, or a biopharma company in R&D or Business Development functions.
