The Preschool Substitute Teacher assists lead teachers in encouraging independence and active participation among infant, toddler, and preschool students. This role guides students using Montessori learning materials to develop communication, motor, and academic skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in encouraging increased independence and active participation in the learning process in students
- Guide students using developmentally appropriate Montessori learning materials to develop communication, fine motor, gross motor, and academic skills
- Work with students according to their individual learning capabilities and maturity levels, growing their confidence and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Minimum high school diploma
- Successfully clear criminal background check
- Willingness to work with infants, toddler and preschool age children
- Compliance with all state education and licensing standards and maintains validation of credentials for the position
Qualifications
- High school diploma
Nice to Have
- Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalent college degree
- Previous Montessori teaching experience
