Postdoctoral Fellow

About This Role

This postdoctoral fellowship position in the Blum Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital focuses on developing safer and more effective cancer immunotherapies. The role involves integrating primary human samples, systems immunology, and disease-relevant models to uncover mechanisms of treatment toxicity and resistance, with a long-term goal of improving clinical care and maximizing anti-tumor immunity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute wet-lab experiments using patient-derived samples and relevant model systems
• Analyze and interpret results in conjunction with computational and clinical collaborators
• Prepare figures, present findings, drive manuscripts, and craft fellowship/grant applications
• Contribute to a rigorous, collaborative lab culture through teamwork and discussion
• Mentor junior trainees as appropriate

Requirements

• PhD, MD/PhD, or MD with strong research training in immunology, cancer biology, or related fields
• Proficiency in basic molecular biology, tissue culture, and biochemical techniques
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• First-authored publication(s) of scientific work

Qualifications

• PhD, MD/PhD, or MD with research training in biological sciences

Nice to Have

• Comfort with quantitative data analysis (R/Python)
• Experience with flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, organoid models, immune cell engineering, multi-omics workflows, and/or quantitative analysis
