Pool Bartender

About This Role

The Pool Bartender is responsible for providing excellent service to guests at the Pool Bar and efficiently operating the bar. This role involves preparing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages while adhering to safety and liquor laws.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of all bar menu items and make recommendations to guests
• Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and measurements
• Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles
• Record transactions in POS at time of order and process payments
• Notify manager of any liquor/inventory shortages immediately
• Arrange bottles and glasses for attractive display and merchandise drinks
• Prepare fruit for garnishing drinks, ensuring safe and sanitary food handling principles
• Follow state liquor laws, check identification for legal drinking age, and adhere to alcohol awareness training
• Set up, maintain cleanliness, and restock ice, glassware, and paper supplies for the bar unit
• Complete closing duties including restocking, turning off lights, counting bank, and securing inventory
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate service needs, and communicate professionally
• Ensure daily reporting is completed to property standards
• Ensure pool bar and surrounding areas are clean and presentable
• Remove soiled towels and trash from the pool area as needed

Requirements

• Must be 21 or older
• High School education or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and bar equipment use
• Basic knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and standard drink recipes
• Ability to work on POS equipment
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers
• Must follow all liquor control measures
• Possess valid Alcohol serving permit
• Possess valid Food handlers permit

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent
• No prior Food and Beverage experience needed
