Polysomnography Technologist

About This Role

This role involves conducting comprehensive evaluations and treatments for sleep disorders by performing sleep studies and generating high-quality sleep recordings. The technologist will also be responsible for patient care and communication.

Responsibilities

• Obtain 16 channel artifact-free polysomnographic data on two patients per shift
• Titrate CPAP
• Calibrate equipment
• Provide patient care
• Monitor and access Sleep Lab quality, policies, and procedures
• Communicate and educate patients and families regarding sleep disorders and treatments
• Consult with referring physicians regarding patient results
• Perform polysomnographic studies in a clinical setting, including oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure titrations
• Score studies and formulate reports for physician interpretation. Document all pertinent patient events according to department policy
• Maintain standards for completeness of quality improvement and quality control measurements

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1+ year experience as a Sleep Technologist
• Good communication skills
• Ability to effectively evaluate and problem solve
• Ability to work independently

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree Health Sciences preferred
• 1+ year experience as a Sleep Technologist

Nice to Have

• Associate's Degree Health Sciences
• Registered Sleep Technologist preferred
• Scoring experience preferred
